Eagle Cement receives fourth PMIEA Platinum Achievement Award; bags first Best Mining Forest Award
November 29, 202229 November 2022 – Publicly-listed cement manufacturing firm Eagle Cement Corporation (Eagle Cement) was once again conferred with PMIEA Selection Committee Platinum Achievement Award under the Quarry Operations Category during the recently concluded Awards Night of the 68th Annual Mine Safety and Environmental Conference (ANMSEC) last November 18, 2022 at CAP-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center, Camp John Hay, Baguio City.
With the theme “Resilience, Reset, Recovery,” the four-day ANMSEC organized by the Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association (PMSEA), in collaboration with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), highlights best practices in mine safety and health, environmental management and social development.
The annual awards honor deserving mining contractors/permit holders/permittees for their outstanding levels of dedication, initiatives and innovations in the pursuit of excellence in environmental protection, safety and health management and social/community development.

The Company not only won the PMIEA award for the ninth year in a row, but also bagged its first Best Mining Forest Award, landing third-runner up in the Non-Metallic Category. This award demonstrates its commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible mining beyond compliance.
Eagle Cement highlighted several key achievements of its conservation efforts aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Mr. Teng noted that these stand proof of Eagle Cement’s unwavering environmental protection commitment and the dedication of our partners, who work in tandem to achieve the overall project goals whilst surmounting challenges of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In just over a decade of operations, Eagle Cement has already made substantial progress in its reforestation program.
